Working together and living together can test the strongest of
relationships - but for Fame Academy stars Carrie and David Grant,
being with each other 24/7 couldn't be easier. AS the join Sunday at
the Oxo Tower Restaurant in London for lunch, it's easy to see why
David, 48 and Carrie, 42, relish every moment together. They're the
best of friends and they love a gossip. They're happy to reveal which
A-list singer need lesson - and lift the lid on their own intimate sex
secrets.

How did you meet?
Carrie: It was in 1986. I was a kids' TV presenter, David was a pop
star, and he was a guest on my show. I loved his band Linx. All my
friends fancied him when they saw him on telly, but I didn't.
David: She just didn't understand what they saw in me!

Was it love at first sight?
David: It took a while to happen but then it hit us. I asked her
something random and suddenly we stared at each other. We were both
thinking the same thing - that we'd known each other for ages.

Was your first date romantic?
David: No, it was a complete catastrophe. I'd forgotten that I'd
arranged to take part in a celebrity darts tournament the same night.
I called Carrie an hour before I was due to pick her up to cancel.
Carrie: I refused to let him and said: "I think you'll find you ARE
taking me out!" so I went to the darts match with him. After, we sat
in a deserted restaurant in awkward silence. But our night was saved
by David chocking on a piece of broccoli. I found it hilarious, then
we ended up talking until 5am.
David: I owe 21 years of happiness to a piece of broccoli!

What was your first kiss like?
David: It was a few weeks after we met and I was terrified I was going
to blow it!
Carrie: That's funny, because back then he was a complete slapper!
David: I didn't have groupies - just fans who wanted to "show their
appriciation". I was nervous with Carrie because I wasn't accustomed
to doing the chasing.
Carrie: It was a fine - a great snog.

With three children - Olivia, 12, Talia, six and 20-month-old Imogene
- how do you keep the romance alive?
David: We're very impulsive - you have to be when you have kids.
David: You have to grab the momenbt and go: "Quick! Jump on me now!"
But it's often followed by: "The kids are coming, pretend you're
massaging my neck!"

What are you most annoying habits?
David: Carrie's addicted to being on time. If we've got five days to
do something, she does it by day two, but I just cram it into the last
day.
Carrie: David wakes me up in the middle of the night with a problem
but when we start talking about it, he's snoring.

If you could have a night of passion with any celebrity, who would it be?
Carrie: Wentworth Miller from Prison Break.
David: Halle Berry, she's gorgeous.

What's been your most embarrassing moment?
Carrie: I was waiting to go ona chat show and I asked a woman next to
me why she was there. I thought she said: "I'm a world champion ice
skater", so I said: "That's brilliant! Well done!". She looked at me
really strangely. Ten minutes later she went on the show - to talk
about being the only survivor of murderer Fred West.

Which stars did you enjoy working with most?
Carrie: Spice Girl Melanie C. She's got talent and strength and she's
interested in improving. Diana Ross was interesting. We couldn't call
her Diana, it had to be "Miss Ross".
David: Prince was amazing to work with, but he's so shy. He barely talks.

Who do you most want to work with?
Carrie: The rest of the Spice Girls. It's brilliant they're reforming.
They'll probably be rusty and nervous, so it'll be interesting to know
how they cope. Victoria can sing, but she could be a lot better if she
had lessons.

What have you got coming up?
Carrie: We've just done Carrie and David's Popshop - a music TV show
for four-to-seven year olds that will be shown some time next year on
the BBC.
