How did you cope with spending four weeks in the South African bush?

For the first week, I hated it. I missed my children terribly and wanted to read their bedtime stories and hear them say 'Mummy, is it time to get up?' You don't realise how lovely those parts of being a mum are until they're not there. I cried a bit, but after a week I got a grip and started to enjoy myself. I'd never even had a pet ,but seeing animals in the wild and understanding their cycle of life was just amazing.

What was it like sharing a room with Jan Leeming?

Well for anyone that saw her on I'm a celebrity get me out of here, you can just imagine what that was like! In the first couple of days, people were getting irritated by her, and after a week they were really annoyed. She wound people up. She's quite neurotic- but beneath it all she's a sweet lady, who needs alot of reassurance.

What was the scariest moment?

It was when an elephant charged our lodge. He just appeared in our garden, and there was a sudden mad scramble. I have to admit I trampled on a lot of people in order to save my own life, which I confess i'm abit ashamed of now. Jan fainted. It was funny and terrifying at the same time.

You and David both return to judge CRF in March- Do you worry that
your careers will influence what your kids do?

They all started off very quiet and timid, but they've learnt that to exist in the Grant household, you have to have some fighting spirit. They're loud and they all perform non-stop. I want to make sure that my children know who they are what they want to do with their lives. Having fame and a big house is fine, but people matter so much more.
